WILDFLOWERS OF MEMORIES

A few seconds ago, the count-down widget on my blog read: 000 days 00 hours 00 minutes 00 seconds

It has been a year since my wife left for her eternal home. The pain lingers, memories are still fresh, and love still burns strong in the heart.

Many things are no longer possible. But when your loved one has gone on before..., to await your home-going and to welcome you with open arms, and when the children around you still called out for their mom in their dreams, sometimes you need to live in the realm of the impossible.

As I sit alone in the house, thinking on a life that could have been, I am not ashamed of the tears streaming down - for I know my wife would have done the same for me. Life may no longer be the same, but often times, I could feel her presence not only in my heart and dreams, and memories but also real and protective ring around me and my daughters.

My wife is now my guardian angel, the angel that will shelter, protect, guide and care for me and my daughters through the storms of life.

And one day, in that yonder place, in the land where there is no more good-byes, she will welcome us one-by-one. And the pain and wound will forever be healed.
But my youngest daughter Robie asked, "Why is mother going alone?", "Dad, we will go together (to heaven). If one day you must go, take me along!". Wish her wishes could come true. How happy would life be if families could all leave together.

But I know, deep down in my heart, one day our mourning would turn into joy and our sorrow into dancing. And in that glory-land, we'll live, laugh and love forever! Until then, we missed you so much....

Many a lonely heartache,
Many a silent tears,
But always a loving memory,
We'll forever store in our heart of hearts!
